Thank you for showing up.
To get the ball rolling, we wanted to open with the following quote from a speech that was given by former President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt. A speech that would come to be known as ‘The Man in the Arena‘.
“It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly…”
The importance of this quote, speaks to the essence of being brave enough to show up and be seen in your work and in your life. Its about defusing those critic’s who would make you play small. Instead it’s about living your best life. That’s us. That’s JumpSeat.

If your like us, spending time in the arena, especially if your committed to creating in your work life. It’s with certainty that you will get your butt kick. It’s about every single one of us having the courage to go first, to open new paths for others to follow. Knowing the naysayers will always be there, hiding in the shadows.
You have to decide, if courage is a value that you hold – this is the consequence.
Allow us to be frank – if your not in the arena also getting your butt kicked, then we’re not interested in your feedback – period! If your in the cheap seats not putting your self on the line and just talking about how you could do it better; we’re not interested. That’s us. That’s JumpSeat.
