How to be a Great Partner for Renters

Here are some easy steps every Listing Owner can follow to prevent renting becoming more of a chore than a reward.

Determine your goals

Are you listing a work area, tools and/or equipment primarily to earn extra cash? Cover operational overhead? Utilise underutilised space, tools and equipment? Create a new revenue stream? For some, listing an area or tools can be the means to keeping the lights on.  Its for this reason it’s important to recognise and feel good about how renting aligns with and supports these goals.

Surround yourself with resources

And by resources, we mean those you can “call in a pinch” when, for instance, “you need to get keys to someone at 2 p.m. when you’re working offsite across town.”  Such as a team member who is willing to help with the Meet & Greet, as well as the on premise inductions for Health & Safety, when you  are unable to do it yourself.  You should also include your Book Keeper, Accountant, Insurance Broker etc who are qualified to assist you with any questions you may have.
