Why jump on JumpSeat?

As Business Owners we are always looking for ways to reduce operational expenditure.  For example, to sublease or cancel a lease to lower OPEX costs; to sell business assets that you have spent years stock piling, including reducing what little staff you do have, by trying to do it all yourself.  Right now, every business is looking at how best to stem the flow of money from flying out the door.  So what else is available to us?

Why not rent your under utilised work areas, tools and equipment to other business owners?

The renting of buildings, tools, equipment and machinery have been available for eons from multiple organisations.  However what’s different about this offering, is You! …and of course us.

Its about sharing ‘Your’ work place and assets

For those of us (Business Owners) who are looking for alternate income streams, by renting idle spaces, tools and equipment in the workplace – who wouldn’t be interested. The question is, how do we (and I’m talking about the collective ‘we’) build a trusted network of Business Owners, to share our work places and assets.  When right now, nothing exists to connect us with other like minded Business Owners.

Build Trust, by building Confidence

The importance of building a community of trusted Owners and Renters helps us to grow confidence.  Especially where there’s such a high level of uncertainty in the air.

How do we build trust?  This can be achieved by attaching a personal photo; sharing information about you and your business that best describes what is available within the space you are renting.  The use of images and/or video to show case your workplace and equipment. As well as JumpSeat capturing Renter reviews, and Listing Owners feedback.  This is aimed at helping users browsing JumpSeat website, to make an informed decisions about what’s on offer.

Help Us, to Help You

Now, the question has to be raised – ‘why shouldn’t we go direct to the Listing Owner to save on transaction fees’.  If we’re being up front, nothing is stopping you from approaching them, outside the platform.  Even though the JumpSeat Terms prohibits direct contact, other than through the platform. The whole point of a platform like JumpSeat is to create a network of individuals.  To build a solid foundation that people can trust when they interact with each other on a regular bases.

We need to create transparency between Listing Owners i.e. Do they make good partners? What is the condition of the work environment, tools, equipment and machinery? Do they have what they say they have? And Renters i.e. Do they pay on time? Do they look after the premises, tools and equipment; keep the work area clean and tidy, as if it were their own? Answering these types of questions (and more) helps users build confidence around Owners that are listing, and Renters that are booking.

Your House Your Rules

Unlike Airbnb or Booking.com, your not handing over the keys to your business.  But instead, working along side another business owner who need space, tools and equipment to take care of their customers so they can continue to trade and survive.  The relationship is directly between the Listing Owner and the Renter.  The Listing Owner sets the rules of engagement including the use of their facilities and equipment.  Renters will be able to communicate directly with the Listing Owner should they have specific requirements.  Which may change the terms of engagement between the parties.  Again, this is subject to the approval of the Listing Owner.

Together is Better

We at JumpSeat, have created a platform that connects business communities across different industries. Something that has never been done before. And we mean any industry – Commercial, Residential, Rural or Industrial. We’re investing in an environment that gives owners the ability to promote their business assets to a broad audience.  Renters, who are also owners, have the ability to save money by renting a work space and equipment, rather than leasing a building or purchasing new equipment for work that may not be there tomorrow.

Everyone is trying to predict what the future will look like.  You know your business, and you know what it needs.  Sometimes it calls for thinking outside your own work bubble.  To obtain an alternate solution that can be the difference between staying open verses closing.  And that is what JumpSeat is all about.  Providing a solution to a very big problem across different businesses, in different industries.

So what ever the situation, or circumstances may be, we need to ‘Back Our Backyard’ – by helping each other, and in turn, we help ourselves.
